About: Contains 1,540 acres of hardwood and mixed pine forest in the Paris Mountains just north of Greenville. The park has more than 12 miles of trails leading through forests and around four lakes (Lake Placid, Mountain Lake, Buckhorn Lake and North Lake). The 13-acre Lake Placid offers swimming and fishing. There also are picnic areas.

Paris Mountain is a monadnock—a mountain that stands alone. This small peak rises above the otherwise level land that surrounds downtown Greenville just 6 miles to the south. Kayak, canoe, and pedal-boating rentals are available on weekends. Visitors can stay overnight at one of the park's 39 paved camp sites, each with individual water and electrical hookups. These sites include restroom facilities with hot showers. The park also offers trailside camping at 5 sites along the North Lake Loop. For larger groups, Camp Buckhorn offers 9 small cabins, each with two sets of bunk beds. The central lodge dining area includes a full kitchen and meeting room.
